That is exactly why we review first. Some pieces may be worth altering now. Others may be better to wait on. We help you avoid spending money too early on garments that may need another adjustment later.
What can be altered
Higher-quality pieces are often the best candidates: blazers, dresses, trousers, jeans, coats, skirts, occasionwear, and workwear. Pieces with good fabric and strong construction usually have the best chance of a successful alteration.
Very inexpensive garments, heavily stretched fabric, complex knits, pieces with limited seam allowance, or garments that are several sizes away from your current body may not be worth the cost. We will tell you when replacement makes more sense.
You should not alter everything. The point of the review is to prioritize. We help you identify the pieces with the best emotional, financial, and fit value.
Free consultation
No. The first consultation is free while The Refitting Room is in its early launch phase. You can talk through your pieces before deciding whether to move forward.
No. The consultation gives you a clear next step. If a piece is worth altering, we can discuss the alteration path and estimate before any work begins.
Photos and measurements
Not to begin. You can start with photos. If a piece moves forward to alteration, we may ask for measurements, additional photos, or an in-person fitting depending on the garment and service flow.
Upload clear photos of the garment from the front and back. If possible, include photos of the garment on your body so we can see the fit issue. Avoid uploading anything you are uncomfortable sharing.
Fit and risk reversal
If the piece needs refinement after alteration, contact us within the adjustment window. We will review the issue and help coordinate the next step.
Yes. That is one of the main reasons the review exists. We will tell you when a piece should wait, be replaced, or be let go.
